As soon as the notification of the Citizenship Amendment Act was issued, security arrangements have been tightened in all the sensitive areas of the country including the capital. Riots broke out in Delhi after the protests against CAA in the year 2020, hence the police does not want to be negligent regarding the security here.
Security has been increased in north-east Delhi. Before the notification was issued on Monday, apart from carrying out a flag march in the entire district, an intensive search operation was also conducted. Police also used drones at many places. Senior police officers say that talks are being held with people of both the communities. Till now 29 meetings of the Aman Committee have been held, out of which one meeting was held at the district level. District Police Deputy Commissioner Dr. Joy Tirkey said that efforts are also being made to remove misconceptions among the people regarding CAA.
The police have appealed to the common people not to pay attention to rumours. If anyone tries to spoil the atmosphere, strict action will be taken against him. The police team of every police station has been asked to make a list of all the miscreants and suspicious people of the area and keep an eye on them.
