Lokesh, a servant carrying a reward of Rs 25,000, the main accused in the murder and robbery incident of chemical businessman Dilip Gupta in Agra, was arrested after an encounter on Friday night. The police had surrounded him on the District Jail Road. But, he started firing. In retaliation, the police bullet hit him in his right leg. He was admitted to the hospital. He had committed the crime to pay off the debt. The police has arrested the main accused Qasim and sent him to jail.
Dilip Gupta, resident of Sultanganj, was a chemical businessman. He was murdered during a robbery on April 1. Lokesh, a resident of Harjupura in Tajganj, was a servant. He had brought three miscreants as customers. Lata Gupta, the businessman’s wife, claimed that the miscreants took away gold worth Rs 30 lakh and Rs 20 lakh. But, the police had denied the robbery of this much money and jewellery.
Police had arrested 6 people including mastermind Qasim, Raju Kushwaha involved in the crime. DCP City Suraj Rai said that the team was engaged in search of Lokesh. Information was received about his arrival on Jail Road at 11 pm on Friday night. Based on the information, the police laid siege. Lokesh opened fire after seeing the police. In response the police also opened fire. He was injured by a bullet in his leg. The police admitted him to the hospital. A pistol, DVR, Rs 3320 and gold chain were recovered from him.
