The budget of the film had reached above Rs 500 crore, after which the makers put the film on hold. This film was supposed to bring the epic story of the great warrior Ashwatthama on screen but now it has been put on hold.

The mythological action film ‘Ashvatthama: The Saga Continues’ was announced in March this year. Shahid Kapoor was going to be seen in the lead role in the film. This film was being directed by Kannada film maker Sachin B. Ravi. According to the report of Mid-Day, the budget of Shahid Kapoor starrer mythological film ‘Ashwatthama: The Saga Continues’ had reached above Rs 500 crore.

‘Ashvatthama: The Saga Continues’ was being made under the banner of producer Vasu Bhagnani’s Pooja Entertainment along with Amazon Studios. But the budget exceeded Rs 500 crore and the film was put on hold due to budget constraints and logistical challenges.

Debt on Pooja Entertainment was the main reason for stopping the film.
The report quoted a source from the production team as saying, ‘The scale of the project was very big. The idea was to make something that could compete with international fantasy-action films. Ashwatthama was to be shot in many countries. But as soon as we started working out the logistics and calculations of shooting at international venues, it became clear that staying within the budget would be a serious challenge. Pooja Entertainment’s debt became another big fact.

The production house of ‘Ashwatthama: The Saga Continues’ is already surrounded by controversies.
