This rail line is called Shakuntala Rail Track. It is about 190 kilometer long track between Yavatmal to Achalpur in Maharashtra. When Indian Railways was nationalized in the year 1952, even after that one railway track of the country was saved which could not be included in it. Actually, this railway track comes under the ownership of a British company. Even today he has the right over it. That is why the Indian unit of Britain’s Click Nixon & Company pays royalty worth crores of rupees every year to the Central Provisions Railway Company.
Steam engine operated for 70 years
This train continued to run with steam engine for the last 70 years. But after the year 1994, the steam engine was changed to diesel engine. Along with this, the number of bogies of this train has also been increased to 7. There are total 17 stations between Achalpur to Yavatmal and this train stops at every station. This train takes about 6 to 7 hours to cover the distance of 190 kms. However, due to some reasons this train is currently lying closed. But tourists still come from Achalpur to Yavatmal to see this railway track.
