Every 30 grams of Sharbati Wheat contains 113 calories, 1 gram of fat, 21 grams of carbohydrates including dietary fiber, 5 grams of protein, 40 milligrams of calcium and 0.9 milligrams of iron. This wheat also contains nutritious elements like magnesium, selenium, calcium, zinc and multi vitamins, which are difficult to get from any ordinary variety of wheat. That’s why the taste of the dishes made from Sharbati wheat is also different. Because of the health benefits of Sharbati wheat, it is also called premium wheat.

Madhya Pradesh’s soil and climate are considered most favorable for the cultivation of Sharbati wheat, although the C-306 variety of Sharbati wheat variety has also been invented, which can be grown in any region of the country. Sehore, Narsinghpur, Hoshangabad, Harda, Ashoknagar, Bhopal and Malwa districts are major producers of Sharbati wheat in Madhya Pradesh. A large area here is covered with Sharbati wheat.

Experts say that most varieties of Sharbati wheat are pest and disease resistant, due to which the cost of pesticides is also saved and good quality chemical-free produce is available. This is the reason why 2 percent more protein is present in the later flour made from Sharbati wheat, which is almost difficult to get from ordinary flour.

Millions of tons of production is available every year
It has been told in a report that about 40,390 hectares of land in Sehore district of Madhya Pradesh is covered by Sharbati wheat alone. Annually 1,09,053 million tonnes of production is being received from here. By adding 30 to 35 kg of Sharbati wheat seeds in one hectare, production can be taken up to 40-45 quintals.

Sharbati wheat crop gets ready in 135 to 140 days with just 2 irrigations, after which shiny, golden and thick wheat is yielded. The flour made from this is sold in the market for 50 to 100 rupees per kg. The price of Sharbati wheat in the mandis is also more than that of ordinary wheat. According to an estimate, Sharbati wheat is sold at a price ranging from Rs 2800 to Rs 3500 per quintal.
