Due to prolonged illness, the folk singer breathed her last on the day of Chhath Puja at AIIMS, Delhi. He died on 5 November at the age of 72. She was popular in every household because of her wonderful voice and her Chhath songs were played in every house. In such a situation, the eyes of the singer’s fans became moist after watching her last video.
In the video going viral, Sharda Sinha looks very weak and a small girl is sitting near her, who is seen singing with her. About one and a half months before the death of Sharda Sinha, her husband Brajkishore Sinha had passed away. He had also shared a post regarding this on Instagram.
Sharda Sinha has sung many famous Chhath songs for the Chhath festival like ‘Kelwa Ke Paat Par Ugelan Surujmal Jhanke Jhuke’ and ‘Suna Chhathi Mai’. Without these songs, Chhath festival seems incomplete. The songs sung by him are also heard in Desh Kya, Saat Samundar Paar America Tak.

Sharda Sinha not only gave a new identity to Bhojpuri and Maithili music with her melodious voice. Spread his singing talent in Bollywood also. The song Kahe Tose Sajna from Salman Khan’s film Maine Pyar Kiya in his voice became very popular. Apart from this, he also sang songs in films like Gangs of Wasseypur Part 2 and Charfutiya Chhokare, which were highly appreciated by the audience.
Apart from Maithili, he also spread the magic of his voice in Bhojpuri, Magahi and Hindi music. His contribution in the field of music was appreciated and he was honored with prestigious awards like ‘Padmashree’ in 1991 and ‘Padma Bhushan’ in 2018.
