The Congress MP read a poem in Hindi while discussing the interim budget presented by Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman. Shashi Tharoor read a poem written by his former colleague Vijay Dhillon. He told on his X handle that this poem has been written by Vijay Dhillon on his request.

The common man has become overwhelmed with the burden of debt, food has become expensive, houses have become expensive.
We point out the shortcomings of the minister’s budget, starting from the head and moving to the feet.
A few selected friends got big bungalows, we became poor from hair to feet.
Suppose you do not dye, but many do, dye has become so expensive that they are afraid to apply it.
I cried my eyes out after hearing the prices of spectacles, use less toothpaste, paste has also become expensive.
Now we started getting cuts even after cutting our hair, without cream our hands and feet also started cracking.
The collar of the shirt got torn, but we can’t buy a new one, GST is so high, we can’t pay.
Someone was asking how we reduce the budget, since the prices of vegetables have increased, we eat less.
He pretended to be a lollipop and went away, this time also he went away singing his own praises.

Accused the government of only talking
Earlier in the day, while opening the debate on the interim budget, Shashi Tharoor Narendra Modi Accused the government of ‘only talking and taking no action’. Tharoor cornered the government on the issue of GDP.
Tharoor said that in 2014, people decided to give mandate to the BJP-led NDA government with the hope that it would follow through on its rhetoric of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’.
HT quoted the news agency in its report that Shashi Tharoor said, “After 10 years, we find that the people of this country have been tragically betrayed by a government whose economic mismanagement in the last decade.” It has thrown the people of India into widespread distress, hardship, low income and high unemployment.
