Ingredients for Sheermal Roti
Flour – 1 cup
Milk – 1/2 cup
Desi ghee – 1/2 cup
Saffron – 1/4 tsp
Cardamom powder – 1/2 tsp
Baking powder – 1 tsp
Sugar – 1 tbsp
salt – as per taste

Sheermal Roti Recipe
To make hotel like sheermal roti, first of all put refined flour in a big bowl. Add desi ghee, sugar, baking powder to it and mix it well. After this, mix saffron and 1 tablespoon of hot water in a small bowl and mix it well and mix it well with all the ingredients by pouring it into a bowl of refined flour. Now add cardamom powder and salt as per taste to the mixture and then add milk little by little and knead a soft dough.

After kneading the dough, cover it with a wet cotton cloth and keep it aside for half an hour. After the fixed time, take the dough and knead it once more and prepare big balls in equal proportion. Now take a ball and roll it round with the help of wheat flour. After this, pierce the roti everywhere with the help of a fork. Meanwhile, keep a nonstick pan/tawa on the gas for heating. When the griddle becomes hot, put the sheermal in it and roast it.

Roast the roti till it puffs up slightly from one side. After this turn the roti and roast it. When the sheermal puffs up a little from the other side as well, remove it from the griddle and roast it on open flame till it turns golden brown from both the sides. Similarly prepare all the sheermals one by one. Now before serving, apply desi ghee or butter on the sheermal and serve.
