The results of the Gujarat assembly elections are out. This time the Bharatiya Janata Party has created a new record. In Gujarat, which has 182 assembly seats, 156 BJP candidates won the elections. The Congress suffered the most. The Congress came straight down to 17 from 77 seats. Means Congress had to bear the loss of 60 seats. At the same time, this time only five candidates of the Aam Aadmi Party, which claimed to form the government, could win the elections. The SP candidate won one seat, while the remaining three seats were won by independent candidates.

BJP’s Jethabhai Ghelabhai Ahir defeated INC’s Khatubhai Gulabbhai Pagi by 47,281 votes in Shehra assembly seat in Panchmahal district. BJP candidate got 1,07,775 votes while Congress got 60,494 votes here. You stood at number three. Its candidate Takhatsingh Raosingh Solanki got 6,461 votes, which was only 3.56 percent of the total votes. The deposits of AAP and Bharatiya Jan Parishad candidates were forfeited. Whereas, NOTA got 4,708 votes.

BJP got victory in 2017
The Shehra seat was won by the BJP in the 2017 assembly elections. In this election, BJP had made Jethabhai Ghelabhai Ahir its candidate from this seat. Jethabhai defeated Dushyant Singh Chauhan of Congress by 41 thousand votes. A total of four candidates were in the fray here. Apart from these two, the deposits of the other two candidates were forfeited.

BJP’s fifth consecutive victory
With the victory in this election, BJP has put its paw of victory here. The party has won six of the seven elections held between 1995 and 2022. SP had won here in 1998. Whereas, the Congress last won here in 1990. Then Jaswant Singh Mansukhbhai Parmar of Congress had won. Jaswant Singh Parmar had earlier managed to win from this seat in 1985 as well.
