ED had sent eviction notice to Shilpa and Raj
Let us tell you that in the investigation related to money laundering, ED had sent a notice to Shilpa Shetty and her husband Raj Kundra on September 27 that they will have to vacate their house and farmhouse in Pune within 10 days. In such a situation, the couple has got a lot of relief after the Bombay High Court stayed the ED notice. The ED had also told the court on Thursday that no action will be taken on the notice sent to Shilpa Shetty until the decision is taken on the petition filed by the ED against the attachment of the couple’s property.
What did Shilpa Shetty’s lawyer say?
In a statement shared by Shilpa Shetty and Raj Kundra’s lawyer Prashant Patil, they denied any link to the Ponzi scheme. The statement said, “First of all, let’s clear the fake media reports that Raj Kundra and his wife Shilpa Shetty Kundra are involved in a cryptocurrency ponzi scam. This is not even a matter of the Enforcement Directorate. It has been stated that Mr Kundra and Mrs Shetty have no connection with the alleged Ponzi scam, which dates back to 2017.
It is mentioned in the statement that the court has ordered a stay on the eviction notice. Shetty and Kundra will appeal before the Appellate Tribunal in Delhi. It also said that the couple will continue to cooperate with the ED until the case is resolved. It further said, “An eviction notice was issued by the ED against the residential properties of my client, which has been stayed by the Hon’ble High Court, thereby directing the Hon’ble Appellate Tribunal to Mr. Raj Kundra and Mrs. Shilpa Shetty for further relief. Shilpa-Raj had appealed in Bombay High Court
Let us tell you that after receiving the notice from ED to vacate the house, the couple had approached the Bombay High Court on Wednesday. In the notice sent on September 27, he was ordered to vacate his properties in Juhu and Pavana Lake by October 13. The report also mentions that the Mumbai zonal office has provisionally attached assets worth Rs 97.79 crore belonging to Raj Kundra under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002.
