Bhojtal Ashram is said to be about 1800 years old. It was founded by Baba Bhabhuti Giri Maharaj. This ashram is spread over approximately 90 bighas. It is believed that Shivalinga had appeared here from the root of the tamarind tree. The recognition of the Ashram spread to far-flung areas. Ten fairs are organized every year at the ashram. Ramlila and Bhagwat Katha are organised.
It is believed that bathing in this pond provides relief from leprosy and mental diseases. In 2008, the then Ministry of Tourism of the Government of India declared the ashram as a tourist destination and got it beautified. On Mahashivratri, Mahant Durga Giri Maharaj of the Ashram conducts it.
