On March 24, abir-gulal was blown in the markets of Aligarh city. Following more than a hundred years old tradition, traders played Holi with Tesu flowers. This Holi started at 12 noon and continued till around 4 o’clock. It was cold at various places. The special thing was that Holi in the market was peaceful.

Traders had started preparations a day in advance to play Holi. On the evening of 23 March, Tesu flowers were soaked in big drums outside their shops. This time also the Municipal Corporation provided water to play Holi. Traders played Holi by closing the market. All markets will remain closed on dusty day (today). That’s why traders play Holi a day in advance.

Business leader Pradeep Ganga said that the tradition of playing Holi in the market is more than a hundred years old. All traders follow this. Transporter Shrikishan Gupta told that Holi in the market has its own unique joy. Gulal flies everywhere. Holi is played with Tesu flowers.

City Railway Road, Abdul Karim Square, Kanwariganj, Chhipaiti, Mahaveerganj, Delhi Gate, Barhadwari, Padav Dubey, Mamu Bhanja, Manik Chowk, Hathras Adda, Sarafa Bazaar, Sabzi Mandi Bazaar, Khair Road, Gular Road, Delhi Gate, Masoodabad etc. Holi was played with great enthusiasm in the markets.
