Shri krishna broke pride of arjuna and hanuman know mythological story of dwapar yug

According to Anand Ramayana (Manohar Kand, Canto 18), Arjun also had a name Kapidhwaj. Why did they get this name? Although this story is from the end of Dwapar. One day Arjun left Lord Krishna alone and went hunting in the forest and while roaming around he went towards the south. At that time, he himself was in place of the charioteer and was driving the horses. In this way, roaming around in the forest, he hunted many things till noon. After this, they started preparing to take bath. To take bath, he went to Dhanushkoti pilgrimage of Setubandha Rameshwar, took bath there and started roaming on the sea shore with some pride.

This is how Arjun and Hanuman ji met for the first time.

Then he saw Mahavir Hanuman ji sitting on a mountain in the form of an ordinary monkey. At that time Hanuman ji was chanting the name of Ram. The yellow colored fur looked very nice on his body. Seeing them, Arjun asked – O monkey! Who are you? What is your name? Hearing Arjun’s question, Hanuman ji laughed and said that I am the same son of Vayu, Hanuman, with whose glory Ramchandra ji had built a hundred yojana wide bridge on the sea. Hearing such proud words, Arjun also laughed and said that Ram had suffered so much in vain. Why didn’t he finish his work by building a bridge of arrows? After listening to Arjun, Hanuman said – Thinking that the bridge of arrows would sink due to the weight of big monkeys like us, he did not do so.

When Arjuna became proud of his archery skills

Arjun said- O best friend! If there was a fear that the bridge would break due to the weight of the monkeys, then what would be the specialty of that archer’s archery. Right now, I will make a bridge of arrows with my skill, you will dance and jump on it with joy. In this way, see also the example of my archery. Hearing such a thing from Arjun, Hanuman ji started smiling and said, what will you do if the bridge built by you sinks due to the weight of my toe? After listening to Hanuman ji, Arjun said that if the bridge sinks due to your weight, then I will light a pyre and take a bath in its fire. Okay, now you (spoke to Hanuman ji) also place a bet.

Hanuman also felt proud of being strong.

Hearing Arjun’s words, Hanuman said that if I cannot sink the bridge built by you with the weight of my thumb, then I will help you throughout my life by sitting near the flag of your chariot. “Okay, that’s right.” Saying this, Arjun strung his bow and with his mass of arrows, in a very short time, he built a strong bridge. The span of that bridge was a hundred yojanas and it was descending over the ocean. Seeing that bridge, Hanuman ji sank it in front of him with the weight of his thumb. At that time, along with the Gandharvas, the gods showered flowers on Hanumanji, being upset with Hanuman’s actions, Arjun prepared a pyre on the sea shore and even after being stopped by Hanuman, he got ready to jump into it.

Shri Krishna broke the pride of Arjun and Hanuman

At this time, Shri Krishna came there in the form of a celibate and asked Arjun the reason for jumping into the pyre. After knowing everything from Arjun’s own mouth, he said that the bet you all had made at that time was in vain. Because at that time there was no witness to your words. Without a witness, truth and lies have no place. At this time I am present as a witness in your time. Now if you guys work like before then I will look at your actions and decide victory or defeat. After listening to Brahmachari, both of them said- Okay and then Arjun again created the bridge. This time Lord Krishna placed his Sudarshan Chakra under the bridge.

When the bridge was ready, Hanuman again started sinking it with the weight of his thumb. This time when Hanuman ji saw that the bridge was strong, he pressed it with the strength of his feet, knees and hands, but it did not sink at all. Silently Hanuman ji thought that first I had sunk the bridge with the weight of my thumb only, then why does it not sink with the weight of my entire body like hands, legs etc. This Brahmachari ji is the reason for this. This is not a Brahmin, but Lord Krishna in person, and he has done this only to save my pride. Well, what power do monkeys like us have in front of this God?

Hanuman was blessed by getting the darshan of Ram in Dwapar Yuga.

Hanuman ji told Arjun that you have defeated me with the help of this celibate. This is not a celibate, he is Lord Krishna in person. He has placed his Sudarshan Chakra under the bridge. Hey Arjun! We have come to know that they have come here only to help you. Taking this form, Ram had given us a boon in Treta that at the end of Dwapar, I will appear to you in the form of Krishna. Today, on the pretext of your bridge, he fulfilled his boon. Hanuman ji was saying this to Arjun that in the meantime God left his Brahmin form and became Krishna. At that time he was wearing yellow clothes. As soon as Hanuman ji saw Krishnachandra ji, his hair stood on end and he prostrated before him. Then Shri Krishna picked up Hanuman ji and hugged him to his heart.

As per the orders of Shri Krishna, they left the bridge and went to their place and the bridge built by Arjun also disappeared in the waves of the sea. In this way Arjun’s pride was destroyed and he thought that Lord Krishna had kept him alive otherwise he would have had to take a bath in fire. After some time, Shri Krishna told Arjun that you had competed with Ram which was unfair. That’s why Hanuman ji had made your archery useless. Similarly, O Pawansut! You also competed with Ram, that is why you were defeated by Arjun. Your pride has been destroyed. Now both of you sing my praises with joy. Saying this and asking Hanuman ji, Shri Krishna went to Hastinapur along with Arjun. For this reason Arjun was named Kapidhwaj.
