IND vs AUS Test Series: As the date for the start of the Test series between India and Australia (IND vs AUS) is getting closer, various speculations are being made from the playing-11 combination of both the teams to the batting order. The biggest speculation in Team India’s playing-11 is about the opening pair. Many former cricketers have said that not KL Rahul but Shubman Gill can open with Rohit Sharma against Australia. These speculations are being made on the basis of Gill’s recent excellent form.
Shubman Gill’s bat is running very fiercely these days. In ODI cricket, his batting average has been shocking, as well as in T20 cricket, this batsman has scored a century recently. Even in the Test matches played last year, he has been better than KL Rahul. In such a situation, he is seen beating KL Rahul in the case of opening pair.
Talking about Shubman Gill’s recent 12 international innings (T20, ODI, Test), he has scored 769 runs here at an excellent batting average of 76.90, including a double century and 4 centuries. On the other hand, KL Rahul is looking a bit colourless. He has been able to score 318 runs in the last 12 innings at an average of just 28.90. He has not been able to score a single century.
Looking at the current figures of Shubman Gill and KL Rahul, coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma can trust Shubman Gill more than KL Rahul. In the top order, the Indian team would like to give a chance to the informed batsman only so that he can get a good start. In such a situation, it is believed that only Shubman Gill will open with Rohit Sharma in the Test series against Australia.
Will KL Rahul play in the middle order?
KL Rahul was recently seen playing at number 5 in the ODI series. Due to not being able to do anything special as an opener, he was given the batting on this order. He also performed well by coming at number 5. In such a situation, it is possible that he may also come in 5th order against Australia. By the way, Team India also has the name of Suryakumar Yadav for this position. Now it will be a matter to be seen that to whom the Indian team gives a chance on this sequence.
