Siddaramaiah tells contractors Submit documents of govt officials demanding 40 percent commission to Nagamohan Das panel

Karnataka Siddaramaiah Government: Even though there has been a change of government in Karnataka, allegations of corruption continue. In the last Karnataka Assembly elections, Congress had made serious allegations of corruption against the BJP government and called it a government with 40% commission. Just before the Lok Sabha elections, now similar allegations are being made against the Siddaramaiah government of Congress, which have been made by the Contractor Association.

An organization of contractors association alleges that earlier in the Basavaraj Bommai-led BJP government, politicians had to pay 40% commission to get contracts for public projects, but now its method has changed. The same amount of commission still has to be paid to get a project contract, but now this money has to be paid to bureaucrats instead of politicians. After such allegations, the politics of Karnataka has once again heated up. Regarding this, it is being said that the shoe of corruption has now shifted to the other foot in Karnataka.

BJP busy in cornering Siddaramaiah government

BJP has completely attacked the Congress government on these allegations. BJP, which was out of power due to these allegations, is now busy cornering Congress’s Siddaramaiah government. Amidst the attacks of BJP, Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has asked the contractors’ organization to present evidence in this matter. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah told D Kempanna, President of Karnataka State Contractors Association, that if he has any documents or evidence etc. to prove corruption then he should contact Justice Nagmohan Das Commission.

Congress had constituted Justice Nagamohan Das Commission

According to news agency PTI, CM Siddaramaiah says that the previous (BJP) government used to run on ‘40% commission’, to investigate which Justice Nagamohan Das Commission was formed. He said that if he has any kind of documents related to this then he should share them with the Commission.

Congress had made corruption a big election issue in the assembly elections.

In fact, even in the previous BJP government, Contractors Association President D Kempanna had accused the government of ‘40% commission’, which was made a big election issue by the Congress. D Kempanna, who has complained about corruption in the BJP government, alleges that I do not think corruption has reduced. Instead of politicians, officials are now busy filling their pockets.

Bureaucrats ignoring local contractors

Other members of the association also allege that until bribe is not given, work orders are not issued by the officers or money is not released. While making the allegation, he also claimed that ‘package deals’ are made with agencies close to the officers, ignoring the local contractors.

It is noteworthy that in May last year, elections were held on 224 assembly seats in Karnataka, in which the Congress party won 135 seats. Congress had full advantage of capitalizing on this election issue. Now, when Lok Sabha ElectionsAs only a few weeks are left in the elections, the Congress government is also facing serious allegations like the previous government.

On the other hand, BJP MLA CN Ashwath Narayan said, “The Congress party had made false allegations against the BJP government. The real corruption is now happening in the Congress government. He alleged that these are the same contractors who are in collusion with the Congress government. .
