There is a limit of purchasing 9 sims

A new rule has been implemented for buying SIM cards in India. Everyone has to follow this rule. If someone does not follow this rule, then he can be fined lakhs. Under the new telecom law, now a person can buy only 9 SIM cards in India. Apart from this, for people living in Jammu and Kashmir and North East states, this limit is 6 instead of 9. If someone crosses this limit, then the government will impose a fine.

You may have to pay a fine of up to 50 lakhs

According to the new telecom rules, if someone buys more than 6 SIMs in Jammu Kashmir and North East and more than 9 SIMs in the rest of India, then a fine of Rs 50,000 will be imposed on him. If this mistake is made for the second time, then a fine of up to Rs 2 lakh will have to be paid. Along with this, if someone tries to buy a SIM in a fraudulent manner, then a fine of up to Rs 50 lakh can be imposed on him and along with this, he can also be given a jail sentence of up to 3 years.

You can check how many SIMs you have on your document

If you want to check how many SIMs are in your name and how many of them are active, you can check online. For this, you will first have to go to tafcop.dgtelecom.gov.in. After this, you will have to enter your number here and login after entering the OTP. After this, all the numbers that are running from your ID will appear in front of you.

If you feel that a number is not yours, then you can click on ‘This is not my number’. After this, you will have to enter the name written in the ID in the box given above. And you will have to click on the report option below. After this, a reference number of your complaint will also be issued.
