A dumper coming at a high speed on Tanakpur National Highway hit a bike rider from behind. In the accident, the bike rider sister-in-law and sister-in-law died while the bike driver brother and his son were injured. After the accident, the truck driver fled from the spot.
On Thursday evening, Mohammad Ahmed (35), son of Shakoor Ahmed, Sahana (32), wife of Ahmed, Farheen (22), wife of Areef, and Haroon (4), son of Ahmed, residents of Turka Tisaur village, were going to their home on a bike to buy medicine when a dumper coming from behind hit them in front of the Indane Gas Agency on the Tanakpur National Highway.
Sister-in-law Farheen and sister-in-law Sahana, who were sitting behind the bike, fell towards the truck during the accident and their heads got crushed. Due to which Farheen died on the spot while Sahana was admitted to the community health center in a critical condition. Where the doctors declared her dead. On the other hand, the bike driver Mohammad Ahmed and his son Haroon suffered minor injuries as they fell on the other side.
They were bandaged and sent home. Police is scanning CCTV footage to find the truck driver who fled from the spot. According to information, Sahana has three children. A 14-year-old daughter and two 4-year-old sons.
Police Inspector Bhupendra Singh Brijwal said that both the bodies have been sent for post-mortem. He said that the absconding truck driver is being traced by scanning the nearby CCTV footage.
