Bachpan Bachao Andolan (BBA) team foiled the attempt of human smugglers in Sitamarhi, Bihar. This team has freed a minor child from child trafficking in a village of Bela police station area here.

In fact, the attempt to take the child into trafficking was foiled by the police and the Bachpan Bachao Andolan team. Earlier, there were complete preparations to forcibly arrest a 15 year old child freed from child trafficking and take him to Maharashtra for child labour. But as soon as the information was received, on the instructions of ASP cum Nodal Special Juvenile Police Unit Manoj Ram, the child was freed from Bela police station with the help of Bachpan Bachao Andolan team.

According to the information, last year also in 2023, a fourteen year old child from Dostian Chowk of Sonbarsa police station area was being trafficked for child labour. After he was freed, an FIR was lodged against the smugglers in Sonbarsa police station. But the brother of the accused had caught the child from Naranga Bazaar of Bela police station area and kept him in Jaynagar. Then a demand was being made from the child’s family to pay Rs 2 lakh in lieu of the earlier case.

There were preparations by the accused to take the child to Maharashtra for child labour. But after receiving the information, ASP immediately took cognizance of the matter. After that, the child was rescued from Jaynagar by Bela police station with the help of Bachpan Bachao Andolan team and sent to a children’s home on the orders of Child Welfare Committee Sitamarhi.
