Union Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav said in the Lok Sabha that between 2014 and 2024, the Railways has given 5.02 lakh jobs. This recruitment is more than the 4.11 lakh jobs given during the tenure of the UPA government from 2004 to 2014. The Railway Minister said in the Lok Sabha that CBT was conducted for more than 1.26 crore candidates at 726 centers in 211 cities in 7 phases from 28 December 2020 to 31 July 2021. No paper was leaked
The minister said that the Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) exams are very technical, which require a large number of people and resources and employees have to be trained. All these challenges have been overcome by the railways. The railways have completed the recruitment process in a transparent manner by following all the rules. During this time, no paper leak or any other issue has come to light.
Improvements made in recruitment management
The Railway Minister further informed that the Railway Ministry has improved the recruitment management by introducing an annual calendar for Group ‘C’ posts this year. The notification was issued to fill a total of 32,603 vacancies from January to March 2024. These include posts like Assistant Loco Pilot, Technician, Sub Inspector and Constable in RPF.
What is the benefit of calendar
Opportunities will increase for candidates by conducting more examinations. Candidates who qualify every year will get opportunities. The dates of the examinations will be fixed in advance which will make it easier for the candidates to prepare. The process of recruitment, training and appointment will be expedited.
