Sourav Ganguly On Virat Kohli Captaincy: Ever since the Indian cricket team got defeated by Australia in the World Test Championship (WTC) final match. Since then, captain Rohit Sharma has been facing criticism due to the continuous performance of the team. Meanwhile, everyone is also remembering the captaincy of Virat Kohli, under whose leadership Team India’s performance was spectacular on foreign tours. Meanwhile, now for the first time former BCCI President Sourav Ganguly has broken his silence on the issue of Virat Kohli leaving the captaincy.
Sourav Ganguly was the President of the Board of Control for Cricket in India at the time when Virat Kohli decided to give up the captaincy from the Test format. After this, the news came to the fore that due to the pressure of Ganguly, Kohli had to take the decision to leave the captaincy. However, now in a statement given to a private channel, Ganguly said about this issue that Kohli had given up the captaincy on his own will. No pressure was made on him regarding this.
Ganguly said in his statement that Virat Kohli was a very good captain. Team India did very well under Kohli and Ravi Shastri. At the time of these two, the attitude of the Indian players on the field is quite aggressive.
I want Rohit to lead the team in the same way
Sourav Ganguly also gave a statement regarding the captaincy of Rohit Sharma and said that I want him to lead the team in the same way. After 6 months we have to play ODI World Cup. It will not be easy to beat the team in which players like Rohit, Gill, Kohli, Hardik, Jadeja, Bumrah, Shami and Siraj are present. I have played with Dravid and have a lot of respect for him. I am sure he along with Rohit will take the team forward.
