Shopkeeper Pradeep Jain told that although many types of Gajak are being made here, a soft Gajak is being made here for the elderly, which the elderly can eat comfortably.

The shop is 90 years old

Pradeep Jain, owner of Mahavir Gajak Bhandar, said that this shop is 90 years old. His grandfather had started making Gajak and selling it at this shop. They have kept the tradition of making and selling Gajak alive for many generations. Many types of Gajak are made here, in which sesame, peanuts, dry fruits, jaggery, sugar and desi ghee are used.

Gajak is full of medicinal properties

Jaggery and sesame are mainly used in making Gajak, which provide warmth to the body in the winter season. Apart from this, the fresh dry fruits and desi ghee included in Gajak make it even more special. Consuming Gajak here during winter season helps in preventing cough, cold and cough. Besides, it also cures knee pain and stomach digestion. Gajak acts as a medicine in winter.

Demand for Gajak increases in winter

Shopkeeper Pradeep Jain told that the trend of Gajak made from sesame and jaggery is years old, but with the changing times, there has been a difference in the method and variety of making Gajak. Earlier, Gajak made of sesame seeds, jaggery and sugar was more popular as Gajak. In the era of modernity, now Gajak made from mawa, peanuts, ghee and cashew nuts is becoming the first choice of the people. Eating jaggery gajak with milk reduces the effect of cold. It also provides freshness and warmth to the body from within. Shopkeeper Pradeep Jain told that a lot of Gajaks like cashew-almond chikki, peanut chikki, sesame patti, jaggery patti are available here. Whose price ranges from Rs 300 to Rs 600 per kg. As the winter increases, the demand for Gajak also increases among the people.
