There will be no need to wander for treatment in case of spinal fracture in the country. The Spinal Cord Society is preparing the data of such cases. With its help, it will be possible to give accurate treatment to the patient according to the nature of the injury. If someone falls from the roof, he will get one treatment and if cancer breaks his bone, he will get another.
This has been agreed upon by experts at the 22nd International Spine and Spinal Injury Conference organized by the Spinal Cord Society and the Indian Spinal Injury Centre. The Society has prepared its report and sent it to the Central Government. It has been said in the report that if the correct figures of spinal fractures are found in the country, then on the basis of that the method of treatment, first aid and prevention strategy can be made. At present there is no policy regarding spinal cord in the country.
Dr. Sanjay Wadhwa of All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi, who came to the conference, said that most of the spine fractures in the country are due to falling from height. It has been seen that in South India, there are more cases of falling from coconut trees and in North India, there are more cases of falling from the roof, but there is no awareness among people about its prevention. If people knew then many cases would be saved from becoming serious. This will save the lives of the people as well as reduce the problems.

Dr. HS Chhabra, President, Spinal Cord Society, said that such cases are only estimated across the country. If the spine code cell is saved at the time of accident, the patient can recover quickly, but it has been seen that people die the cell due to lack of information, which increases the problem. There is a policy on this in foreign countries, that’s why there is immediate treatment in such cases. It is estimated that 25 thousand cases come every year, while this figure can be much bigger.

This is how rescue can be
More than 600 health workers from around the world at the conference said that if the victim is lifted at the site of the accident without bending his back, damage to the spinal cord can be reduced. Sometimes the damage in the spinal cord is less in an accident, but there is damage in lifting it. If he is properly transported to the hospital, then the patient’s problem can be reduced. Injury to the spine can even lead to death.
