Sri Lanka Cricket Has Issued NOC To Its IPL Stars After New Zealand Tour And BCCI Has No Objection


Sri Lankan Cricketers in IPL 2023: Sri Lanka Cricket has revealed that none of their cricketers is going to be banned in the IPL auction. In fact, for the past few days there were reports that some Sri Lankan players would not be available in the opening matches of IPL, due to which BCCI is angry and it may ban those Sri Lankan cricketers in the IPL auction. Sri Lanka Cricket has told all these news going on in the media as wrong.

Let us tell you that 4 Sri Lankan cricketers will be present in IPL 2023. Among them, three Sri Lankan cricketers Wanindu Hasaranga (Royal Challengers Bangalore), Mahish Teekshana and Mathisha Pathirana (both Chennai Super Kings) are immediately busy playing matches for their country and due to this they will not be available for the first few matches of IPL 2023. Actually, Sri Lanka is currently on a tour of New Zealand, where they are busy in the white ball series. On April 8, Sri Lanka will play the last T20 match of their tour against New Zealand. Only after that Sri Lankan players will be able to come and play in IPL. Apart from these three, there is one player Bhanuka Rajapaksa, who will play for Punjab Kings, he is available for the entire IPL season.

Sri Lanka Cricket Board disclosed

According to Sri Lankan media reports, BCCI is not happy with this attitude of Sri Lankan players. Now according to a new report published in Sri Lanka’s Daily Mirror, Sri Lanka Cricket has issued NOC to its IPL stars and BCCI has no objection in that. According to the report published in the publication, Sri Lanka Cricket officials said that, we have issued No Objection Certificate to our players to go to IPL after the New Zealand tour is over. According to an official of Sri Lanka Cricket, no objection has been expressed to the non-availability of Sri Lankan cricketers in the opening matches of IPL.

Let us tell you that some players of the South African team may also miss the initial few matches of IPL 2023, as this team will host the Netherlands for the 2 ODI series from 31 March to 2 April. Because of this, David Miller, Kagiso Rabada, Quinton de Kock, Enrique Nortje, Lungi Ngidi will not be available in the first few matches of IPL. Apart from these, Bangladesh’s left-arm pacer Mustafizur Rahman, who appeared in IPL 2023 from Delhi Capitals, may also be absent in the first few matches.
