Sridevi relations with sister Srilatha: Whenever there is talk of top actresses in the history of Hindi cinema, Sridevi’s name will definitely come up. Even though he is not among us today, he is always alive through his films. Sridevi is called the first female superstar of Hindi cinema, she has given many such tremendous films which became memorable films of her career. Sridevi’s personal life has always been in the news, especially her relationship with her younger sister.
Sridevi’s younger sister’s name was Srilata and she also wanted to work in films but it could not happen. Sridevi made her her manager and she worked for Sridevi for years but an incident happened which created a wall between the two sisters.
Sridevi’s family background
Sri Amma Yengar Ayyappan was born on 13 February 1963 in Meenapatti village of Tamil Nadu. You know Shri Amma Yengar as Sridevi. His father was Ayyapan Yengar and mother Rajeshwari Yengar. Sridevi has a younger sister Srilata and a brother Satish Yanger.
It is also said in many reports that Sridevi also has two step brothers. Sridevi and Srilata had a very good relationship since childhood and both always spent time together. But with time the feelings of both the sisters also changed.
Why was there a rift between Sridevi and Srilata?
Sridevi started working in films at the age of 4. Sridevi was seen for the first time as a child actress in the 1967 Tamil film Kandhaan Karunai. After this, she worked as a child artist in many films in the South and at the age of 13, she appeared as a young star in the Tamil film Moondru Mudichu.
According to DNA report, Srilata also used to visit the sets of Sridevi’s films from 1972 to 1993. Seeing elder sister Sridevi working in films, younger sister Srilata also felt like working in films. But he did not get a chance in films, so Sridevi made him her manager. Their relationship was fine till 1996 but after that something happened between them that the relationship deteriorated and the reason behind this was money and property.
Money became the reason for enmity between Sridevi and Srilata?
According to reports, Sridevi and Srilatha’s mother underwent an operation in a hospital which was done wrongly and their mother lost her memory. After this, his mother died in the year 1996. Sridevi filed a case against the hospital, which she won and she received around Rs 7 crore from the hospital, which she kept with herself.
According to media reports, Srilata had thought that she would give half of the money to Sridevi’s sister but this did not happen and she got angry. There are also reports that Sridevi had kept her parents’ property with herself, due to all these reasons Srilata left Mumbai. Srilatha started living in Chennai with her husband Satish. After some time, Srilata filed a case against Sridevi and she won, she also got about Rs 2 crore as compensation.
After this the distance between them had increased further. According to reports, when Sridevi was honored with Padma Shri in 2013, her sister called her and congratulated her. It is also said that Sridevi had met her sister about 2 days before her death, although no one confirmed this.
Sridevi’s death
Sridevi made her Bollywood debut as an actress in the film Sola Sawan (1979). After this, he worked in many superhit films like ‘Nagina’, ‘Himmatwala’, ‘Judai’, ‘Chaalbaaz’, ‘Laadla’, ‘Chandni’, ‘Sadma’, ‘Tohfa’, ‘English Vinglish’.
In February 2018, Sridevi went to Dubai with her family to attend a family function. After the marriage the whole family returned but Sridevi stayed for shopping. Boney Kapoor had to return for some event but later came to surprise Sridevi on 24th February.
They had plans to go out and Sridevi went to the bathroom to get ready. As Boney Kapoor, when Sridevi did not come for a long time, he went to the bathroom and saw that Sridevi was drowned in the bathtub. Sridevi died mysteriously on 24 February 2018.
