In fact, a video of an airport in the Philippines is going viral these days, in which airport employees are seen extorting money from foreign passengers. Questions are being raised about this all over the world. However, the airport authority has taken strict action and sacked all the five extortion employees.
Some tourists from Thailand went to visit the Philippines. Reached the airport right but as soon as they started coming out. Some security guards posted there stopped them. He was cited for the security check. Even after he got the investigation done, the employee started demanding money. Also recovered 200 dollars from him. Another Thai citizen walking along made a video of this whole incident and made it viral on Facebook. After this there was an uproar.

Airport officials called an emergency meeting. CCTV footage was searched. It was learned that five security personnel were continuously involved in this work. The authority immediately ordered his dismissal. The Office for Transportation Security (OTS) issued a statement saying that the service and safety of passengers is of paramount importance to us and we will not allow any misbehavior with it at any cost. All the employees have been dismissed and will be sent behind bars.

This is not the first incident of security personnel being involved in a crime at the Philippine airport. Since July 2022, 14 personnel have been dismissed while three others have been suspended. The security agency has a “no tipping policy” but here all the employees have been seen violating it. Permission is also given to do wrong things by taking money. Security personnel have also been accused of misbehaving with passengers.
