Anant Kumar / Gumla. Mohan Shahi Lassi, found near Tiwari store located on Sisai Road, Gumla district headquarters of Jharkhand, is famous in the entire district. The lassi here is so pure and tasty that people come from far and wide to drink it. Due to the central location of the district headquarters, people coming to town, market and people coming from other districts stop here and drink lassi. The cold and thick lassi available in this shop is everyone’s favourite.
This is one of the oldest Lassi shops in Gumla. Lassi is being sold here for the last 25 years. Initially, a glass of lassi was sold for eight rupees, but due to increase in inflation, its price also increased. Presently it is sold at the rate of Rs.35 per glass. Apart from this, Faluda Kulfi is also available here. Small glass is available at the rate of Rs.20, medium glass at Rs.30 and special glass at Rs.40.
Ashok, the director of Mohan Shahi Lassi, told that I have been selling lassi for almost 25 years. I sell lassi in the summer season. I sell litti-chokha during winters. Started selling lassi for eight rupees a glass, which is now Rs.35 a glass. I curd about 80 liters of milk daily. Which gets consumed in the evening. Ice, sugar, cream, cashews, raisins, coconut, Rooh Afza are mixed in the lassi made here. People like its taste very much. About 500 glasses of lassi are sold daily. My Lassi Shop is open everyday from 1:00 PM to 10:00 PM.
Braj Bhushan Sharma, a customer who came to drink Lassi, told that I have been coming to Mohan Lassi for the last almost 10 years to drink Lassi. Earlier it was available for Rs.15 a glass, but now it is available for Rs.35 a glass. It is a great pleasure to drink lassi here. Must come once and try it. It is very fun and test full.
