Kuhu Garg, born on 22 September 1998 in Dehradun, is the daughter of former DGP of Uttarakhand Ashok Kumar. Ashok Kumar is a retired IPS officer of 1989 batch. Kuhu completed her primary education from St. Thomas College, Dehradun. After this he completed his graduation from SRCC College, Delhi.

Kuhu Garg is an international badminton player

Kuhu Garg is also an international badminton player. Kuhu has been an international level badminton player. He started playing badminton at the very young age of nine. Kuhu Garg has so far won 56 national and 19 international medals. Kuhu started winning medals at the national level from the age of 13. Kuhu has played in women’s doubles and mixed doubles. His world rank has been 34th in mixed doubles. In the year 2018, Kuhu has also played the quarter finals of the World Championship.

This is how the journey of UPSC started

Kuhu Garg was making her mark in badminton when she suffered a knee injury two years ago. Due to major surgery, the doctor advised him to take rest, using which he started preparing for Civil Services. According to Kuhu, she used to study for 8-10 hours daily during preparation. During Prelims, this time became 12-13 hours per day and during Mains, 16 hours were given to study. The result was that Kuhu passed the UPSC exam in the first attempt and secured 178th rank in the country.

inspiration from father
Since childhood, Kuhu Garg has been watching and getting inspired by the environment of her father and the IPS officers around him. She always thought that if she got a chance to do something for her country like this, she would definitely take advantage of this opportunity. She says that earlier she was earning name for the country in sports, now she is serving the country as a civil servant.
