Japan has created history by successfully landing the spacecraft ‘Moon Sniper’ on the Moon. With this, Japan has become the fifth country to successfully send a spacecraft to the moon. Before this, only India, Russia, America and China have been successful in reaching the moon.
Japanese space agency JAXA said that it had searched an area of 6000X4000 for landing. JAXA landed its Slim Moon mission in this area. The space agency said that its target was to land the spacecraft in the searched area only.
Space craft was launched in September last year
Let us tell you that Moon Sniper has been jointly developed by Japan’s JAXA, NASA and European agency. It was launched in September last year from the Yoshinobu Complex of Tangeshima Space Center in Japan. This mission has cost more than Rs 831 crore.
Space craft is equipped with image processing technology
The area where Japan has landed its spacecraft is in the polar region of the Moon. It is most dark here. The name of this site is Shioli Crater. According to the agency, its spacecraft is equipped with an advanced optical and image processing technology.
Plasma will test the air
Apart from this, X-ray imaging and spectroscopy are also present in it. It will revolve around the moon and investigate the plasma wind flowing there. Apart from this, it will also investigate the olivine stones present on the surface of the moon. This will help in obtaining information about the stars and galaxies present in the universe.
Let us tell you that last year, India had created history by successfully landing Chandrayaan-3 on the South Pole of the Moon. India and Russia also launched their Luna-25 moon mission, which failed.
