Expansion
As board exams are approaching, exam phobia is increasing among many children. Under pressure to score good marks and perform better, many children have started fasting. Some are staying awake till late night to study for hours. 3 to 4 cases of exam phobia are being received daily at Sathiya Clinic of District Women’s Hospital. In one case the student even forgot her class.
Counselor Ruby Baghel said that children are under so much stress regarding board exams that they are studying for hours without eating and drinking. This is extremely dangerous for children. Recently, a 12th class student from Bah forgot even her class while studying due to exam stress.
At the same time, the parents of a class 12th student of Agra Cantt, worried about the girl’s fasting, came for counselling. Parents complained that children have started fasting on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday so that they can get good marks.
