Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu On Old Pension Scheme BJP Slams Congress


Himachal Old Pension Scheme: Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on Tuesday (December 20) directed the Finance Department to submit a final proposal for the old pension scheme to ensure its implementation at the earliest.

In a statement, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu said that the state government has decided that the pending demand of the employees regarding the old pension scheme will be fulfilled in the first meeting of the cabinet, as promised in the Congress Manifesto-2022 . He said that the suggestions of various employees organizations and other sections of the society are being considered, so that a viable and comprehensive pension scheme can be formulated.

BJP targeted

Chief Minister Sukhu is in quarantine after being infected with the Corona virus. He said that the state government is committed to fulfill all the 10 guarantees given by the Congress before the assembly elections and will leave no stone unturned to live up to the expectations and aspirations of the people. However, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) said the Congress was not serious about restoring the old pension scheme and its MLAs were busy attending the Bharat Jodo Yatra led by former party president Rahul Gandhi.

BJP’s state spokesperson Randhir Sharma said that cabinet expansion is just an excuse and Congress is going back on its promises. He said that when portfolios can be divided between Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri, then why don’t they restore the old pension scheme by calling a cabinet meeting. Let us inform that out of 68 assembly seats in Himachal, Congress won with 40 seats. BJP got only 25 seats.
