CRPF jawan Shailendra, who was martyred in the Naxalite attack in Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district, was married to Komal, a resident of Kisan Nagar in Sachendi, three months ago on March 7. On Sunday afternoon, Shailendra called his wife Komal and told her that he would come home on July 7. However, he will not come now, rather his body will reach the village on Monday.
In fact, Shailendra, a resident of Naugwan Gautam village of Maharajpur, had gone back to Sukma for duty after marriage. Since then, he was in touch with his wife only through phone. Both of them had talked on the phone on Sunday itself.
After knowing each other’s well-being, they talked about meeting each other and Shailendra said that he would be coming home on leave in a few days. No one knew that not Shailendra himself but his dead body would return.
On the other hand, the martyr’s friends Sujit and Ajay who live in the village said that Shailendra was simple by nature and very sociable. He had promised that this time they would go somewhere together. They did not know that they would have to support their friend.

Shailendra was the youngest of three brothers. His elder brother Sushil died of snake bite four years ago. Middle brother Neeraj lives with his wife Kajal. Sister Manorama is married. Shailendra did his early education from Daulat Singh Inter College of Siktia village and intermediate from Prempur Jan Shikshan Inter College.
After this, he did his graduation from Maharana Pratap Degree College, Karchalpur. Shailendra’s mother told that she has been facing difficulties since her husband passed away a long time ago.
