Actually, producer-director Sunil Darshan was making a film for which he had cast Sunny Deol. But when Sunny Deol heard the script, he asked Sunil to make some changes. However, the director did not want to do this and hence Sunny Deol refused to do the film.

There was some argument between Sunny and Sunil during the shooting of the film and later Sunny Deol directed his own film which was released with the name ‘Dillagi’. Sunny also parted ways with his film directed by Sunil Darshan.
Akshay Kumar had asked for work from Sunil
Sunil Darshan thought of casting Ajay Devgan in his film after Sunny Deol. The talks were finalized between the two, but even before Ajay signed the film, a photo came to Sunil. This phone was not from anyone else but Akshay Kumar, who asked for work from Sunil Darshan. At that time more than a dozen of Akshay’s films had flopped. In such a situation, casting Akshay in the film was a big risk for Sunil.
For this reason Darshan gave a chance to Akshay
Beyond all the facts, Sunil Darshan thought that if Akshay Kumar himself had come to ask him for work, then he would not interfere in the film in any way. That’s why Darshan cast Akshay in his film. This film was ‘Jaanwar’ which was released in 1999 and was a great hit. Actresses Karisma Kapoor and Shilpa Shetty were also with him in this film.
Akshay-Sunil worked together in many films
According to a report in Times of India, after ‘Jaanwar’, Akshay Kumar had asked Sunil Darshan to sign a contract with him for his next 100 films. Akshay Kumar and Sunil Darshan later did 5 to 6 films together continuously.
