On Friday, angry students created a ruckus in Madhopur Panchayat of Chhatapur block of Supaul district of Bihar over the problems related to the new enrollment process. During this time, the students blocked Jadia-Bhimpur SH 91 for about an hour and raised slogans. However, later the jam was removed after persuasion by Chhatapur Police Station Head Shiv Shankar. It is noteworthy that the students are unhappy with the compulsion to enroll in a distant school instead of the neighboring high school.

In fact, for enrollment of students in class ninth, the Education Department has tagged the high schools located in the concerned Panchayat itself. Also, enrollment of class 8 passed students from tagged middle schools has been made mandatory in tagged high schools only.

The protesting students say that they have passed 8th class from middle school Rampur. Now he wants to enroll himself in nearby Kabir Kripanath Higher Secondary School, Hariharpur. But when they reached the school for enrollment with the necessary documents, they were told that they could not enroll here because the school was located in Madhopur Panchayat. Students are being advised to enroll in Nanhi Tola High School of Rampur Panchayat.

Students say that Nanhi Tola High School is five kilometers away from their house. To reach there one will have to cross Sursar river. Whereas the distance of his house from Higher Secondary School, Hariharpur is just five hundred meters.

Here, on receiving information about the jam, Chhatapur Circle Officer Rakesh Kumar and Police Station Head Shiv Shankar Kumar reached the spot. The officials assured to establish coordination with the education department and ensure that the problems of the students are resolved soon. Only after that the road jam could be removed.
