PSGMBY scheme is a welfare scheme of the Government of India which is known as PM Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme. Under this scheme, one crore families will be given 300 units of electricity free every month. Recently Prime Minister Narendra Modi had announced the launch of this scheme to promote solar energy. Under this scheme, about 1 crore families will be encouraged to install solar panels.
You will get this much electricity free every month
When the Government of India announced this scheme, the government’s simple belief was that they will give 300 units of free electricity every month to all the families eligible for this scheme. Under this scheme, the government is going to invest about 75 thousand crores. In this scheme, only DCR panels will be installed on the consumer’s roof and only families with DCR panels will be eligible for this scheme. This simply means that consumers will be able to install solar panels of 1 to 10 kilowatts from their approved electricity load.
This state is going to get benefit
The Haryana government has started providing benefits to about one lakh poor families of the state under the Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme. Under the scheme, about one lakh families of Haryana will start getting subsidy from the central and state government for installing solar energy equipment. This subsidy can be up to Rs 1 lakh 10 thousand.
This is the eligibility
Under this scheme, the benefit taking families are included in two categories. These include the families whose annual income is Rs 1.80 lakh and the second category includes the families whose annual income is between Rs 1.80 lakh to Rs 3 lakh.
This is how you will start getting subsidy
The Central Government will give a subsidy of Rs. 60,000 for solar energy equipment up to 2 kW, while the State Government will give a subsidy of Rs. 50,000 to families whose annual income is Rs. 1.8 lakh.
Families with annual income of Rs 1.8 lakh to Rs 3 lakh will get Rs 60,000 subsidy from the central government and Rs 20,000 subsidy from the state government.
Pradhan Mantri Surya Ghar Free Electricity Scheme is a beneficial and necessary step for the poor families of Haryana. This scheme will not only provide free electricity, but will also promote the use of solar energy in the state. However, the government is going to implement this scheme in other states of the country soon. Apart from Haryana, some districts of UP have also started getting the benefits of this scheme.
