The actress says- ‘India’s system is very particular, if not a father then a father figure, and there is no better person than your own father. The law says that to show the intention, the father will have to transfer half of his property to the child. My father signed everything over in his name. I am very proud of my father and a country like India.
Fought 10 years of legal battle for second daughter
Sushmita Sen also had to fight a long legal battle to adopt her second daughter Alisa. Indian law says that if someone first adopts a daughter, then he cannot adopt a girl for the second time. She will have to adopt a boy. But Sushmita Sen had to adopt Alisa only. In such a situation, he along with his father fought a legal battle for 10 years and also won.
