Mahakumbh Stampede: In Mahakumbh, 30 deaths occurred in a stampede just before the second royal bath on Mauni Amavasya (29 January). The pictures of this stampede at Sangam Ghat were heartbreaking. Somewhere in the pictures, people looked at themselves in a pile of clothes, blankets, bags and jutes were seen and more than a dozen corpses lying on the floor in the hospital were seen.
