The Quit India Movement launched by Mahatma Gandhi from Bombay (Mumbai) on 9 August 1942 spread with great zeal and enthusiasm in the Nimar region. 68 revolutionaries from Nimar were involved in this movement, who were arrested and imprisoned in Khargone’s Mandleshwar District Jail.
