Due to release of canal water in Chhatarpur district, crops standing in hundreds of acres of fields of farmers of Mahayaba village were submerged. This caused a loss of lakhs of rupees. Farmers say that their crops have been ruined due to the negligence of the irrigation department. Farmer Swatantra Shastri says that every year the fields get flooded.
