Gujarati people surrender passport twice in a year for renouncing citizenship

Renouncing Citizenship: There are increasing incidents of people living in Gujarat giving up Indian citizenship and settling abroad. The number of people surrendering their passports has doubled in a year. Since January 2021, 1187 people have given up their Indian citizenship. In 2023, 485 passports were surrendered which is double the number of 241 passports surrendered in 2022. According to a Times of India report, a man named Utpal Patel left Ahmedabad in 2011.
