On Wednesday (December 11, 2024), the tomb of Hafez al-Assad, father of Bashar al-Assad, was set on fire by the rebels. Its pictures are also going viral on social media, in which some rebels are seen standing on the burning coffin. The tomb of Hafez al-Assad was built in the western Syrian province of Latakia.
