There is a by-election on Sisamau seat in Kanpur, for which voting has started in all the polling stations. The nomination process for the by-election went on from 18 to 25 October. After the withdrawal of nominations on October 30, the names of five candidates were finalized in Sisamau. Among them, Suresh Awasthi from BJP, Naseem Solanki from SP, Virendra Shukla from BSP and two independent candidates are in the fray.
