Tata Motors: Tata Motors acquired the Sanand plant from Ford on January 10, 2023, and this new plant is part of the Tata Passenger Electric Mobility Extend project. This second plant is spread over 460 acres in Gujarat and both ICE and EV models are manufactured in it. The total amount of acquisitions and other investments was Rs 725.7 crore, while retooling costs were an additional Rs 1300 crore.
