Taiwan Parliament Video Lawmakers protest and fight during a parliamentary session in Taipei Taiwan on tuesday

Taiwan Parliament Video : Even after the swearing in of the new President Lai Ching Te in Taiwan, the ruckus in the Parliament is not ending. There was a fierce fight between the MPs in the country’s Parliament on Friday as well. During this, kicks and punches were also used. One MP even ran away from the House with the bill documents, the video of which also went viral. Now on Tuesday also, about 3 thousand protesters surrounded the Parliament and created a ruckus by condemning the proposed Parliamentary Reform Law. When the opposition MPs were debating the bill on Tuesday evening, the protesters outside accused it of killing democracy in connivance with China.

Why is there controversy?
Actually, a proposal has been brought in the Taiwan Parliament, under which it has been said to give more power to the opposition MPs to keep an eye on the functioning of the government. Apart from this, there is a demand in the bill that criminal cases will be registered against government officials for giving false statements in the Parliament. The ruling party wants to discuss this, but the opposition is adamant on getting it passed. Just before the voting on this bill, on Friday, there was a clash between the people of President Ching Te’s Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) and the pro-China opposition Kuomintang (KMT). During this, kicks and punches were also exchanged between them. Actually, the ruling party DPP does not have a majority in the Parliament, while the main opposition party KMT has more seats than DPP. To come in majority, KMT is planning an alliance with the Taiwan People’s Party (TPP).

According to Reuters, being in majority, the opposition party wants to give more power to its members in the Parliament to keep an eye on the government. DPP alleges that the opposition is trying to force the bill to be passed in Parliament, which is a violation of the Constitution. DPP MPs say that the bill should be discussed first. At the same time, the opposition alleges that the DPP does not want to allow this bill to be passed, so that it can misuse its power. That is why this uproar is taking place in the Parliament.

Thousands of people gathered outside the parliament
Now on Tuesday, this bill was again discussed in Parliament, although this time there was no fighting. On Tuesday, when MPs were debating the bill, protesters outside Parliament accused opposition parties of trying to implement reforms and killing democracy in connivance with China. A 24-year-old student said that I think so many people coming out today is a warning to the lawmakers, they need to be aware that this power has been given to them by the people. During this, chaos again spread in Parliament, MPs waved banners and shouted at each other, but there was no fighting like on Friday. MPs of the ruling party were wearing bands on their hands, on which it was written that democracy is dead.
