Take these measures to protect mango crop from insects Agriculture news

Mango Farming: Mango is cultivated on a large scale in Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, West Bengal and Maharashtra. The time between March and April is very delicate for mango orchards. At this time, fruits start appearing on mango trees, which becomes very important to protect from rain, insects and diseases. Mango is mango by its name itself, but people consider it very special in their lives. Mango is produced in many areas, but along with the production, there is also a fear of many types of insects attacking it. In such a situation, today we will tell you about some such techniques by which you can save your mango crop from getting spoiled.

These days, mango fruits are under threat of red striped fruit borer. Due to the outbreak of this disease, the lower parts of the mango start rotting and holes start forming in the lower part. Due to this problem, the quality of mango deteriorates and its effect is visible on other fruits as well. These fruits are not fit for human consumption and the fruits also become weak and fall from the tree. Experts say that the outbreak of fruit borer insect increases more in this season, so keep monitoring the mango orchards and start management work in time.

Mango will become special due to bagging of fruits

By bagging mangoes, mangoes can be saved from many damages. In this technique, mangoes are covered on the tree itself, which can save many mangoes from burning and heat. By bagging mangoes, mangoes turn red in colour. The bags used for bagging are made of paper, which also eliminates the problem of insects infesting them. Experts say that by bagging mangoes, poisonous insects do not infest them and mangoes also ripen quickly. By bagging mangoes, the sourness in mangoes also goes away and mangoes grow completely red and sweet. Apart from this, there are many other ways by which mangoes can be protected.

Horticulture experts said that in the areas where red striped fruit borer was infested last year, farmers will have to do more monitoring. However, this is the first generation of insects, so their number will be less. They can be identified and prevented in time. It will be beneficial to use contact insecticide to prevent fruit borer in mango orchards. In mango orchards, 1.5 ml of Malathion 50 EC medicine can be sprayed by dissolving it in one liter of water. Apart from this, the infestation of red striped fruit borer can also be reduced by dissolving 0.5 ml of Deltamethrin 2.8 EC medicine in one liter of water and spraying it on the fruits.
