Arpit Badkul/Damoh: People of Damoh district of Madhya Pradesh like to eat samosa for breakfast after waking up in the morning. This is the reason why most of the shops in the district sell samosas and chaat. Gore Lal’s shop is included among them. This shop opens at 7 in the morning and closes at around 11 o’clock. 1000 samosas are sold at this shop in just 5 hours.

Sandeep Rakwar, who has been running a samosa shop for the last 15 years, said that he uses potato paste and seasonal vegetables to make samosas. When the prices of green peas and carrots reduce in the markets, then it is also used. Apart from this, black pepper, ginger, dry ginger, cumin, celery, green peas, jaljeera, flour, jaggery, chilli and coriander are used in potato paste. Mother prepares all these spices at home. After this, fill the paste prepared with spices in round tikkis of flour and fry them in hot oil on the stove. When the samosas are cooked properly, they are served to the customers with tomato chutney and desi cow buttermilk. The price of one samosa is 7 rupees 50 paise.

Sandeep Rakwar told that preparations for making samosas are done since the morning. We cook 50 to 60 samosas at a time in the pan. The demand for samosas is so high that about 20 to 25 pieces have to be taken out. Then they can go somewhere and feed samosas to the customers. All these samosas are made by mother’s hands. At the same time, customer Deependra Vishwakarma, who came to eat samosas, told that he has been eating samosas here for about 2 years. There has been no problem of any kind so far. There is very little spice in the samosas of this shop.
