Tata Altroz Racer Launch Timeline: Tata Motors will launch the Altroz Racer performance hatchback on June 7, which is a performance-oriented version of the Altroz hatchback. The Altroz Racer will come with a 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine that generates 118bhp of power, it will be exclusively available with a 6-speed manual gearbox. It will be available in three variants R1, R2 and R3 in the market. It is being said that, Tata Motors will equip the car with a sportier sounding exhaust which will give it a louder engine note than the standard Altroz Turbo. However, it remains to be seen whether the Altroz Racer will get tuned suspension or tweaked steering.
Features and Interior
The second major feature update is said to come in the form of a new 10.25-inch touchscreen system that comes with Tata Motors’ latest infotainment system. Other features include a blind view monitor and a 360-degree view camera while it will also have ventilated seats. Like the exterior, the interior will also get sporty-looking seats along with color accents like the exterior. It will also have an air purifier.
Price and competition
Talking about the price, the starting price of the Altroz Racer is expected to be more than Rs 10 lakh, while the top end variant can be priced up to Rs 11 lakh. The Altroz Racer will compete with the Hyundai i20 Online, as well as cars like Maruti Suzuki Fronx, which comes with turbo petrol. Many other sub-compact SUVs also come with such engines. The Altroz Racer was first previewed as a concept and now we have got its production version, while the review of this car is coming soon as we will drive it after launch.
