PM Modi reacted to a post by Union Health Minister Jagat Prakash Nadda, in which the World Health Organization (WHO) has recognized India’s progress in reducing TB by 17.7 percent from 2015 to 2023. In a tweet posted on Twitter, the Prime Minister said, “Commendable progress! The decline in TB incidence is the result of India’s dedicated and innovative efforts. Through collective spirit, we will continue to work towards a TB-free India.” PM Modi also called upon the people of India to become TB free.

17.7% decline in TB incidence in 8 years

“We remain steadfast in our commitment to achieve a TB-free India,” the Union Health Minister wrote. The World Health Organization (WHO) has recognized India’s remarkable progress, with a 17.7% decline in TB incidence from 2015 to 2023. “This rate is more than double the global decline of 8.3%.”

Tagging the Prime Minister, JP Nadda further wrote, “Under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Modi Ji, our government has launched Ni-Ksay Poshan Yojana to provide essential nutritional support to TB patients and BPALM, a new treatment for multi-drug resistant tuberculosis. I also appreciate the tireless efforts of the dedicated health workers of the Ministry of Health, whose unwavering commitment and hard work play a vital role in the fight against TB. .
