The demand to reject the petition demanding worship in the Tila Mosque of the capital Lucknow has been rejected. ADJ Narendra Kumar refused to interfere in the order of the lower court and accepted its order as correct. In such a situation, this case will continue in the lower court.

The plaintiff in the case, Nripendra Pandey, had filed a suit in the civil judge’s court, in which he had stated that during the tenure of Aurangzeb, Lakshman Tila, established as a Hindu religious place, was demolished and a mosque was built there. The site of said temple was destroyed, but Shesh Nagesh Patal Kupa and Shesh Nagesh Tileshwar Mahadev and other temples are present outside the wall of the mosque. People following Hindu religion worship here.

It was further stated that on the occasion of Bada Mangal in June 2022, the plaintiff along with others wanted to worship and read Hanuman Chalisa at Lakshman Tila. But the present Imam of the mosque, Maulana Abdul Mannan, said that it was Waqf property and if any Hindu worshiped near the Mound Mosque, he would oppose it. After the filing of this suit, an application was filed against Maulana Mannan to reject the suit.

It was said that the Hindu side did not give the reason for filing its suit, hence it should be dismissed, but Civil Judge Piyush Bharatiya rejected the application of Maulana Mannan on September 6, 2023. This order of the lower court was challenged by Maulana by filing an observation, which was rejected by the ADJ court.
