A hearing was held on Tuesday on the police charge sheet filed in the court against the main accused of raping a teenager, former block chief Nawab Singh Yadav, the victim’s aunt and co-accused Neelu Yadav. On the request of the defense, the court has fixed October 18 for the next hearing. Charge sheets have been filed against Nawab Singh Yadav and Bua under similar sections.
On Tuesday, the debate on the charge sheet filed by the police in the teenage rape case started in the POCSO court of the District and Sessions Court. The defense counsel demanded that he should be given at least two days’ time as he has not yet studied the charge sheet. On this, the court fixed October 18 as the next date for framing of charges. The government advocate on behalf of the prosecution said that a copy of the charge sheet has been handed over to the defense.
Now charges will be framed on October 18, on the basis of which the trial will begin. All three accused are lodged in the district jail, they will be produced on the basis of video conferencing. He told that accused Nawab Singh Yadav and aunt face similar charges under the Indian Justice Code and POCSO Act, whereas Neelu Yadav is only accused of tampering and erasing the evidence. As evidence, the police have included call recording of the victim, police video clip, DVR of Chaudhary Chandan Singh Degree College, CDR, investigation report of forensic lab and many electronic and scientific evidences in the charge sheet. During the hearing, investigator and Sadar Kotwal Kapil Dubey were also present in the court. The defense lawyer said that the police have exaggerated the sections in the charge sheet, which will be studied and argued strongly.
