Telangana Police: Telangana Police has arrested an officer who conspired to kill himself and killed a person to get insurance amount of Rs 7 crore. In this case, the police have arrested the officer as well as his wife and relatives. Police told that this incident is from Medak district.
According to the police, the main accused in the case is a resident of Vimala Thanda in Medak district of Telangana, Pathaloth is working as Senior Assistant in Dharma Secretariat and lives with his family in Kukatpally, Hyderabad. This officer lost Rs 85 lakh in the stock market and hatched a conspiracy to make up for this loss. His wife and relatives were also involved in this conspiracy.
What is the whole matter?
As part of this conspiracy, these people, the officer and others planned to kill a look-alike of himself to claim the insurance amount and accordingly he bought 25 insurance policies worth Rs 7.4 crore in his name in the last one year. After this, these people burnt a person in the car. After the body of a person was found in a completely burnt car in a ditch on the outskirts of Venkatpur village in the district, the police had earlier registered a case of suspicious death and were probing all angles.
Based on the ID card found in the bag, the government employee was initially presumed dead and was identified as a 44-year-old man, who was working as an assistant section officer at the Telangana state secretariat in Hyderabad. Meanwhile, the police investigated from a different angle and found that the person killed was not the officer who wanted to get crores of rupees after his death. After this, the police arrested this officer on Tuesday.
What was the plan?
As part of the plan, on January 8, the officer, along with another accused, asked a man near the Nizamabad railway station, who resembled the officer in some way. Police said the duo shaved the man’s head, dressed him in an officer’s uniform and then took him to Venkatpur village. After this the ASO poured petrol inside and outside the car and asked the person to sit in the front row of the car. When she refused, the duo attacked her with an ax and baton and allegedly killed her, put her body in a car and later set the vehicle on fire, police said.
